Amendment to UST Systems


New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection (NJDEP) is proposing an amendment to the current rules governing the use of Underground Storage Tanks (UST’s). The proposed new rules and amendments relate to secondary containment; operator training, designation, and duties; and violations and penalties. The proposed rules apply only to tanks that contain any quantity of hazardous substances, any quantity of motor fuel stored for commercial use, and all heating oil tanks of 2,001 gallons or more for on-site consumption at businesses or commercial operations.
