NJDEP Updated the DPCC Program to Include a New Substance – New Guidance Documents Released

The NJ Department of Environmental Protection’s (NJDEP) Bureau of Release Prevention recently updated the List of Hazardous Substances in N.J.A.C. 7:1E Appendix A for the Discharge Prevention, Containment and Countermeasure (DPCC) program. Per this update, Appendix A now includes the acidic and anionic forms of perfluorooctanoic acid (PFOA) and perfluorooctanesulfonic acid (PFOS), the anionic form of perfluorononanoic acid (PFNA) and the salts and esters for all three chemical groups. NJDEP Issues a Revision to Air Quality Risk Screening Worksheet

On June 29, 2020, the New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection (NJDEP) finalized a revision to its Air Quality Risk Screening Worksheet for Carcinogenic Effects and Noncarcinogenic Long-Term and Short-Term Effects (Worksheet). The Worksheet Assessment is one of the three types of risk assessments that are conducted if air toxics are emitted above their applicable reporting thresholds within a preconstruction permit application pursuant to N.J.A.C. 7:27-8.5(b) or an operating permit application pursuant to N.J.A.C. 7:27- 22.3(cc).
